One of the known NPA rebels belonging to Front Committee-51 along with his comrades are charged with before the provincial prosecutor’s office here on Tuesday.
Bansalan police officers charged “Ka Marvin” for the murder of Cafgu member Dioscoro Donosa who was killed during an ambush at Sitio Balagonon, Barangay Managa, Bansalan town on August 09.
CAA Donosa was under the command of the 72nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
Police said Marvin led more or less 20 heavily armed men who staged the ambush to a group of soldiers and militiamen conducting a foot patrol operation in the mountain ranges of Managa.
Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, commanding officer of the 39th Infantry Battalion (PA) immediately sent augmentation troops to conduct hot pursuit operations for the fleeing rebels.
At around 5 p.m. of the same day, the military engaged in a fierce firefight at Sitio Katkat, Barangay Daliawon Plantation, Toril District in Davao City.
One of the rebels was killed in the process.
The military recovered 3 Armalite rifles and subversive documents at the battleground.
