Former President Joseph Estrada said an all out war must be declared against the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf in Mindanao.
In a radio interview aired over Davao City, General Santos City, Butuan and Cagayan de Oro, Estrada lamented over the death of innocent civilians and military personnel during the MILF attack on Monday in Lanao.
“We have to crush them (MILF/Abu Sayyaf) at all cost. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has the capabilities to do that,” Estrada said.
Estrada said “why should the government will keep on talking to people who will not heed on what they have agreed for several times since the start of the rebellion more than 30 years ago?”
Estrada also lashed at the controversial MOA on Bangsamoro Juridical Entity saying “it was not right”. “They did not consult the people.”
“We should not give any part of the country to the MILF who killed a lot of people, beheaded our marines, and killed innocent civilians?” Estrada said.
The former President said we have only one flag, one armed forces, and one nation. “And it’s treason if you will give a part of the country to the MILF.”
He said the President must do all her best to protect our territory at all cost, even to the extent of declaring an all out war against the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf.
“Enough with the talking; the people in Mindanao are still living in poverty and fear,” Estrada said.
He recalled to have crushed and overran 46 MILF camps when he was still the president of the country. The biggest of which is the Camp Abubakar.
“Nakakaawa na masyado ang taga-Mindanao. Mindanao will not become progressive if the MILF and the Abu Sayyaf are still there,” Estrada said.
