Maximo and Ignideo are biological brothers.

The police said at around 6:45 p.m. on August 15, the victims were traveling along the Makar to Davao National highway when two unidentified persons flagged their vehicle somewhere in Barangay Talas, Sulop town and shot them at close range.

Ignideo died on the spot, while Maximo died minutes after he arrived at Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City.

Investigators recovered 3 spent shells of .45 caliber ammunitions at the crime scene, the spot report said.

In a separate interview with Sulop ABC President Boyet Hernan, he said Ignideo and Maximo were paying a visit with a friend in Sulop town on Friday when still unidentified gunmen shot them in the vicinity of Talas Elementary School situated along the national highway.

Hernan said he gathered information from the village chief of Malungon that Maximo is allegedly facing a murder case in Kiblawan town. He did not elaborate but promised to conduct further queries pertaining to the report. (With reports from Derek Galeos)
