The city disaster coordinating council (CDCC) has released the identity of the male cadaver found floating on the coastline of Barangay Aplaya on Sunday morning.
Glenn Ferrer, CDCC responder and chapter president of Kabalikat Communications said the victim is Greg Tompong, 27, married, and a resident of Barangay Soong – an upland village of Digos City.
Tompong was crossing the river at about 2 p.m. on Sunday to get his horse grazing at the other side of the river when a strong current of floodwater suddenly washed him away.
He was drifted more than ten kilometers from the place where he crossed the river until he was found dead at the coastline of Barangay Aplaya.
