| Drinking buddies dead in a hacking duel |

Two elderly men died on the spot following a hacking incident that took place Tuesday afternoon at Barangay Kidadan, Sta. Maria, Davao del Sur, police said.
Francisco Magulinay, 62, and Benjamin Salimama, 60, a resident of the said place died from multiple hack wounds during that bloody encounter.
Senior Police Officer 4 Elizalde Laput, Sta. Maria police investigator said the duo were drinking coconut wine (Tuba) when at about 5 p.m. a heated argument over a fighting cock ensued.
Witnesses said Magulinay drew a bolo and hacked his drinking buddy. Despite his wounds, Salimama managed to unsheathe his bolo from its scabbard fight off with Magulinay to the end.
When the police arrived, they were both dead.
