Cor Jesu College holds “walk for justice”
Written by Eldie S. Aguirre

The bomb explosion that cut short the life of a fourth year computer science student of Cor Jesu College and hurt 34 others caught the ire of the academe.
On Monday afternoon, professors, students and staff of the Cor Jesu College get out from the school premises and staged a “walk for justice” along the main thoroughfares of the city urging the authorities to hasten its investigation and pin down the culprit behind the bombing.

Zara Fe Abillero, 19, embarked on the Metro Shuttle Bus with body number 176 at the New Satellite Terminal in Aplaya, Digos City on her trip to Davao City shortly before 12 noon.

But a bomb exploded before the bus could get out of the terminal hit Zara and 34 other people, mostly passengers of the ill-fated bus.

Zara along with 5 others were rushed to Davao Medical Center in Davao City due to their critical situation.

Twelve hours later Zara passed away despite efforts of the doctors to save her precious life.

The young student could have been living a better life after finishing her study at the Cor Jesu College this school year since the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has posted her name among those who passed the latest exams for sub-professional eligibility.

The result was posted on the CSC website on July 25, the day Zara died.
