| Militiaman shots ‘thief’ |

A suspected thief is now fighting for his life inside the provincial hospital in the city after a Cafgu (civilian auxiliary forces geographical unit) member shoot him at dawn of July 14.
Inspector Emelix Mabalot, Bansalan, Davao del Sur police chief identified the suspected robber as Calixto Pulbos, a resident of Sitio Kinoynoy, Barangay Darapuay.
The militiaman who is now in the custody of the 72nd Infantry Battalion (IB) of the Philippine Army is CAA Dencio Ungot.
Police report said Ungot was with the team of military operatives conducting foot patrol at Sitio Alo, Barangay Darapuay when they sighted Pulbos gathering rubber cap lump from rubber trees.
The operatives frisked the suspect but he immediately fled from the scene where the militiaman fired at him hitting his body.
Pulbos was rushed to the hospital in Digos City, while the police recovered two sacks of rubber cap lump and a bolo at the crime scene.
The police are still conducting a thorough investigation over the incident.
