Senior Supt. Cesario Darantinao, Davao del Sur PNP director was fuming mad over reports that more or less one kilo of shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride) is channeled in one of the villages in Sta. Cruz town every month and distributed to the towns of Matanao and Padada and this city.
Darantinao ordered the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs – Special Operations Task Force (PAID-SOFT) to place suspected drug traffickers on a 24-hours surveillance operation in an effort to crush the drug ring in the province.
“We are declaring an all-out-war against drug traffickers in the province,” Darantinao said during the presentation of two suspected drug pusher the authorities have arrested in a buy-bust operation in Matanao town.
The police identified the detainees as Bartolome Aguilar, 33; and Ernie Chavez, 27; both are residents of Poblacion Matanao, Davao del Sur. Police operatives seized sachets of ‘shabu’ from their possession on Wednesday.
Darantinao said the police intelligence community is focusing their eyes on four big time drug traffickers reported to have been lurking in Sta. Cruz, Digos City, Matanao and Padada.
He said the bulk of illegal drugs delivered to a dropping point somewhere in Sta. Cruz town originated from the cities of General Santos, Davao and Cotabato.
“We will not let no stones unturned in this campaign to eradicate and cleanse the province from prohibited drugs and spare the people in the community from its threat,” Darantinao said.
The police have arrested at least four suspected drug traffickers in the province in just a span of two months.
