Davao del Sur police director Senior Supt. Cesario Darantinao, strongly condemned the successive dumping of salvage victims along the national highway in the province. This developed following the discovery of two dead bodies on June 15 and June 17 where police believed victims of salvaging.
A still unidentified and unclaimed body at Angel Funeral Homes in Digos City was found early on Sunday bathing with his own blood after he was pushed outside an unknown vehicle and shot several times at close range along the national highway of Barangay (village) Guihing, Hagonoy town.
Another suspected victim of summary execution was dumped along the national highway in Barangay Tagabuli, Sta. Cruz town on Tuesday.
The victim who sustained torture marks and multiple stab wounds in the body turned out to be Roy Rosales – a laborer in Bangkerohan public market in Davao City. He was missing since Sunday – the victim’s mother, Arsenia said.
Darantinao in a media interview said he already ordered the police’ intelligence network to determine the group responsible for the twin salvaging incident.
“They (culprits) are staining the image of the province with this kind of actions. They must be stopped in the soonest possible time in converting our province into a dumping site for victims of summary executions,” Darantinao said.
Darantinao admitted it is giving him a ‘headache’ in his capacity as the PNP provincial director since it would affect the relative peace and order situation the people are enjoying now.
“I smell something fishy about these activities”, Darantinao said. |
